40% of Tekka Centre tenants opt to move to temporary market

SINGAPORE : Only 40 percent of shop owners at the Tekka Centre in Little India have opted to move to the temporary market along Race Course Road.

The Tekka Centre along Serangoon Road will be closed for renovations from Thursday. It The Tekka Centre will reopen for business 18 months later with a new look.

The 28-year-old market, which has become a popular tourist spot, will have new facilities such as escalators and lifts. – CNA /ls
